It checked out fine when I scanned it with MBAM before installation. If you're wondering why I didn't pick up that the defragger wasn't a virus I can't really tell you. I went to my friend's house for a few days, and he does not have internet there, and System Settings.exe did not open once to tell me anything about my media player or to click on it to save money on gas. I rebooted the computer shortly after MBAM gave me the message that the program was malware, to find that System Settings.exe is perpetually open and displays ads from time to time. Little did I know the damage was already done. It was supposed to help me defragment my hard drive, but it was actually malware and I removed it. ![]() It started a week ago, after I installed a edgy loooking program that didn't work as advertised. ow, about four months later I must try to save it again. So I recently reset my computer to factory settings to save it from rootkits and malware that I installed on accident. ![]()
